Synthesis

Description
The project SUMO - Sustainable use of the oilseed processing biomass, intends to develop different, but complementary, routes of valorization for the sustainable use of the main byproducts of oily seed processing.
The expected result is the design of several alternative biorefinery units adaptable to current processing and biomass consumption sites in participating countries, where the oilseed processing sector is very important. The alternatives will be flexible enough to process by-products of plant processing, finding synergies with other complementary residues generated nearby. The pathways to be developed include the use of biomass and its biofuels and energy components in human consumption and feed.

Goals
- Prepare an inventory and diagnosis of the residues generated by the processing of oilseeds;
- Develop case studies, by participating region, proposing a biorefinery scheme to treat lignocellulosic "in situ" residues that can be extrapolated to other by-products and similar regions;
- Produce at least 6 products from the selected waste streams and respective feasibility studies for the solutions proposed as a result of international collaboration.

Italian school students intern at CVR
Four students from the Italian school IIS "A. Olivetti" interned at CVR. The objective of this exchange is to internationalize their skills, strengthen their language abilities, broaden horizons and anticipate their entry into the job market. CVR welcomed the students as part of the Financiamento Base Mission2GG - Grow Green project.
Green Financial Instruments for a More Sustainable Future
The commitment to the future and the need to promote a more sustainable planet reinforce the necessity of creating mechanisms to finance the transition to a low-carbon economy. Frameworks are fundamental documents in the process of issuing green bonds. CVR helps to construct this document aligned with the Principles published by the International Capital Market Association (ICMA).
