Italian school students intern at CVR

In the context of a school exchange, four students from the Italian school IIS "A. Olivetti" interned at CVR in Guimarães. The objective of this exchange is to internationalize their skills, strengthen their language abilities, broaden horizons and anticipate their entry into the job market.

For two weeks, the CVR team welcomed the four Italian students, who shadowed the Center's activities and supported the team in various practical tasks and laboratory contexts.

During the internship, the students had the opportunity to experience the following activities:

  • Valorization of used sand paper for the production of different materials
  • Incorporation of waste materials into non-structural mortars
  • Ceramic production
  • Toxicity tests with Daphnia magna
  • Waste management and environmental conservation.
  • Waste incorporation into composite materials

The exchange lasted two weeks and was carried out as part of the Erasmus project "TO THE MOON AND BACK." The project aims to give students an opportunity abroad, experiencing a new way of living and working, so that they return richer and more proactive. Desincoop, chaired by Luísa Oliveira, is one of the partners of the Italian school for this project.

CVR welcomed the students as part of the Financiamento Base Mission2GG - Grow Green project, integrated into axis 3, which aims for "growth and investment in collaboration opportunities and internationalization to promote R&D results and create partnerships and collaboration networks for technology diffusion and transfer." It is financed by the PRR – Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência (recuperarportugal.gov.pt), framed within the Interface Mission.
